CORK community and charity groups have received the equivalent of over ten million meals as a result of the partnership between AIB and FoodCloud.
Since the partnership started back in 2018, support services in Cork city and county have benefited from over 4,200 tonnes of food, the equivalent of over ten million meals.
Further initiatives were highlighted at a recent event held at UCC to discuss how student pantries are reducing food waste and building sustainable communities by redistributing food on campus.

This amounts to 700kg of food on a weekly basis at UCC alone.
The AIB Community Meals Programme is also being supported by FoodCloud Kitchen, which helps to prepare nutritious meals for local charities and support services that may have limited cooking capacity.
Last month, FoodCloud’s technology platform passed 7.5 million in virtual redistribution donations.
This marks one of the most significant advances in digital food rescue systems worldwide.
