The road beside Timoleague Abbey was flooded last week due to high tides, strong winds and heavy rains.
The final race in the Beara AC 5 Mile Race Series took place in Eyeries last Saturday and the overall winners of the series were: Ellen Vitting Kenmare AC (2nd place), Julie O’Brien Durrus AC (1st place), and Nina Murphy Beara AC. Right; the male winners were Bobby Tangney Kenmare AC (3rd place), Michael Dullea Skibereen AC (1st place) and Donal Coakley Glanmire AC (2nd place).

The Samhain Parade, the Music of What Happens, took place in Clonakilty last Sunday and was a tremendous success despite the weather.

First class pupils at Kealkill National School are enjoying learning how to play chess every Friday evening in school with their teacher Ms O’Connor. They have currently learned how to move pawns, rooks, knights and bishops with the help of the online Ficheall lessons and are lookinig forward to an in-school tournament once they have mastered all the moves.
First class pupils won a trip to the cinema with their creation of ‘the slimer' when they won the competition to create the scariest Halloween sculpture.

Congratulations to the Kealkill National School’s debating team who won the first round of the Concern Primary School Debates competition. The subject for the debate was:social media should be banned for U16s. The opposing team was Clondrohid National School. Kealkill captain Kate Kirwin, along with her team mates Caoimhe Crowley and Alannah Maddock were all outstanding on the day. Special thanks to the chairperson on the day Dan Sheehan and time keepers Fionn O'Halloran and Gearoid O'Sullivan who carried out their duties very professionally.
