An emergency response was triggered in Kinsale this morning after a gas leak occurred while a truck was delivering gas to a restaurant in The Glen area of the town.

Once the alarm was raised  at around 10am emergency services including units of Kinsale Fire & Rescue and Carrigaline Fire Station and gardaí attended the scene and cordoned off the street while gardaí evacuated residents and business owners from the area.

As a precaution, the Blue Haven Hotel was evacuated, with guests and staff moved to safety.
