A MAN who was involved in an accident has been banned from driving for three years following his conviction for drink driving.

Evan Carroll (25), of Carrig Aoil, Cloughduv, Crookstown pleaded guilty at Macroom District Court to drink driving and careless driving.

The court heard that just after midnight on December 18th 2025 Mr Carroll was involved in a one-vehicle accident with his BMW at Cloughduv.

Gardaí  arrested him at the scene and breath sample taken gave a reading of 75mgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath.

The court heard he had no previous convictions.

Defence solicitor Patrick Goold said his client drives for work to a warehouse in Little Island and  said his client fully cooperated with gardai, was insured and had a full driving licence.

‘He has learnt his lesson,’ said Mr Goold. Judge Joanne Carroll struck out the charge of careless driving and  disqualified him from driving for three years.
