THE students at St Patrick’s Boys’ National School have a very active Farm Club who meet regularly to share farm stories, farm models and magazines and to watch Skibbereen live mart online.
They recently enjoyed a trip to the farm of Michael and Marguerite Crowley Bauravilla, Skibbereen where they learned a lot about the work on a dairy family farm.
They saw the cows being milked and learned about the importance of cooling the milk quickly.

They learned about the fleet of Drinagh milk lorries that collect the milk all over West Cork and they visited the baby calves, older cattle and saw the cows out grazing.
This outing was kindly organised and sponsored by Drinagh Co-op and Carbery Milk products.
The students learned so much from Michael, Marguerite, and Lorna from Drinagh Co-op and also enjoyed delicious Dubliner cheese supplied by Carbery.
They really appreciated the trip and benefitted from the experience.
