ANKE Eckardt is preparing to present a very large cheque to Brú Columbanus.
Last November, Anke curated an exhibition of her own charcoal drawings that were on exhibition in Budd’s Restaurant. The project was organised by Anke in appreciation of Brú Columbanus and in memory of her beloved mother Hildegard who passed away last year after a long illness.
Anke said she was delighted with the services provided by the charity.

‘I stayed at Brú Columbanus several times during my mum’s illness and later when she was at Marymount Hospice. It was very welcoming and homely. It is such an inspiring project, just shows how kindness and goodwill has a huge effect in our community.’
She thanked the community for its support and especially Jamie Budd for hosting her exhibition and the launch party in November. Nearly all the pieces were sold on that very first evening. The total amount raised was €2,909.
