Children representing all the national schools in Beara come together to launch “Jersey Day” on 20th March, a fundraiser for Féile O Sullivan. The children all proudly wore their club jerseys. Celebrating International Women’s Day, the West Cork Jesters ladies took part in a tag rugby festival that was held in Pairc Uí Chaoimh which was a huge celebration of strong, resilient women. Kaiya O’Sullivan won the solo dance competition in the Scór na bPáistí Carbery final and is wished the best of luck as she progresses to the county semi-final.
Knockskeagh National School celebrated a wonderful day of reading and imagination for World Book Day. Children in every class were invited to dress as their favourite book characters which brought lots of fun and creativity to the day. Senior classes also enjoyed spending time with younger classes for shared reading, creating lovely opportunities to read together and to share a love of books.
Knockskeagh students from third to sixth class represented their school recently at the Féile Ficheall in Beda Hall, Ballineen. All students had an opportunity to play six games on the day against players from a number of other local schools.

Fifth Year students Ella McCarthy and Milly Seaman from Coláiste na Toirbhirte with their teacher Nicole Keating. Both girls competed in the national finals of the Soroptimist Ireland Girls' Public Speaking Competition in the Mansion House, Dublin on Saturday March 7th where Milly emerged as the winner on the day. It marks a huge achievement for the school to have had two students competing in the final, and reflects the girls' hard work, ability, and charisma.
