Emma Downey, Castletownbere was selected to play for Cork Primary Games which took place during the half-time of the Cork versus Tipperary match at Semple Stadium, Thurles last weekend. Friends since low babies at school, Carmel Crowley, Deirdre O’Donovan, Ita Dennehy (home from Boston) Deirdre O’Connell, Rosemary Schluger (home from New York), all celebrate their 60th birthdays this year. The friends recently re-united at the Maritime hotel for Deirdre O’Donovan’s smashing sixtieth.
Proceeds of €765 from a concert held in February were presented to ARC House Bantry by Gortalassa Old School House (GOSH) last Wednesday. At the presentation were Michael Alger (musician), Marion O’Brien (GOSH) and Louise Finnegan (ARC House) at the presentation of funds. Jane O’Brien (vocalist) was missing from the photo.
