A MAN who was found drunk at the entrance of a Macroom supermarket paid €50 to the Court Poor Box and was placed on a six-months probation bond.
On October 8th 2025, gardaí received a call about a man who was heavily intoxicated at the entrance of Supervalu on Main Street, Macroom, and found him unable to stand when they arrived.
Jeremiah Twomey (63), of Graigue, Inchigeela, Macroom, pleaded guilty to a public order charge at Macroom District Court (April 1st 2026).

The court heard that Mr Twomey had four previous convictions, including two for being intoxicated in a public place.
Defence solicitor Patrick Goold said his client had an alcohol problem and had made serious attempts to get off drink.
Judge Joanne Carroll asked the defendant to pay €50 to the Court Poor Box and placed him on a probation bond for six months.
The condition of the bond are that Mr Twomey attends for alcohol addiction treatment and for counselling as advised.
