Speaking on the festival, Cork County Mayor Cllr. Mary Linehan Foley said: ‘It is great to see Bike Week Cork returning for 2026 with a packed schedule of events suitable for young and old.

‘Cycling has so many benefits and Bike Week is a superb opportunity to highlight those benefits along with the fantastic cycling infrastructure in place across the County.’

Cork County Council has worked in close collaboration with Cork Sports Partnership to highlight the many benefits of cycling during Bike Week.

This year’s festival comes at a turning point for active travel in the region.

According to the 2025 Cork Walking & Cycling Index, 73% of residents now support the development of cycle paths physically separated from traffic.

With over €100 million invested in active travel schemes across the county since 2021, Cork County Council is using Bike Week 2026 to highlight these new safer routes and encourage everyone to cycle more.
