A beautifully renovated, Georgian-style home in rural Skibbereen, has been listed among the finalists on Home of the Year, which will air tomorrow night at 7pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.

The house first appeared in episode four of this year's season and the late Huge Wallace was to the fore in praising the home that was lovingly restored by Marie and Jo, and their daughter Emily.

When they first bought the home, it was structurally sound but all of the rooms needed renovation, something that would be in keeping with their style.

The family took on the works themselves and designed every inch of the property, which impressed the three judges, which includes architect Amanda Bone, and interior designer Siobhan Lam.

As those who have already seen the show will attest, the home is a blend of classical style and artisanal quirks, which claim make it a joy to live in.

The West Cork home is one of 10 to have made it to the final. There is also a home in Kerry, a home in Galway and Down, plus two in Kildare, and four in Dublin.
