YOUNG people across West Cork are embracing a world of opportunity thanks to an elective module offered by The TEFL Institute of Ireland.
As Ireland's only TEFL training provider, they are now working with secondary schools across 20 counties to offer their students a head start on the world.
Their TEFL certification programme gives teens the chance to earn an internationally recognised qualification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language during their Transition Year, in as little as 10 weeks.

This qualification doesn’t just look great on a CV; it also counts as a personal skill for the Bronze or Silver Gaisce Award.
A Transition Year student from Beara Community School reflected on their experience: “I learned so much about English as well as teaching skills, which I can use in so many areas of life, like sport or working as part of a team when I’m older.”
She added: “It’s a great qualification that allows you to explore different cultures while teaching and interacting with many nationalities and personalities, even children with different needs and abilities.”
Delivered entirely online through ten interactive modules, the course can be completed anywhere, at any pace.

Teens can even study on the move using the TEFL on the Go mobile app.
Upon completion, students receive a globally respected certificate that sets them apart when applying for jobs, college, or exciting gapyear adventures abroad.
