BANTRY Basketball Club’s U13 boys captured back-to-back county league titles with a superb win over Neptune in front of a packed Parochial Hall.

Having suffered defeat to the same opponents in the Cork County Board U13 tournament final just three days earlier, Bantry approached this top-of-the-table clash with renewed determination.

From the opening tip, their defensive intensity set the tone, with the sides level at 11-11 at the end of the first quarter.

Bantry, coached by Nuala Carey, found their rhythm in the second quarter, producing a strong run to take a nine-point lead into half time. Neptune responded with a dominant third quarter, but Bantry remained composed, edging ahead by a single point heading into the final period.

The fourth quarter was played at a relentless pace, with both teams trading scores to leave the game level with just 90 seconds remaining. Bantry held firm in the closing stages, maintaining their defensive pressure and executing efficiently in attack to secure a deserved four-point victory.
