Heading into their final game of the campaign on Saturday, Bay Rovers knew only a win against third-placed Dunmanway Town would set up a title play-off. They delivered in style, winning 6-0. Ryan O’Boy was the hero with a hat-trick, while Ronan Kennan, Dominik Placzek and Charlie Swayne were also on target for the winners.
There was no separating Bay Rovers and Drinagh Rangers in their two league meetings this season, with the sides drawing 1-1 and 2-2. Both teams haven’t lost a league game either, but a champion will be crowned on Friday evening.
Also, in the final week of the U18 division, Dunmanway had hammered Castlelack 7-1 before their defeat to Bay Rovers. Hat-trick star Calvin O’Donoghue led the charge, while Shaun O’Connell (2), Shane O’Connell and Sam Foley were also among the goals.
On Saturday, in their final game of the season, Togher Celtic picked up their first win, beating Castlelack 1-0 thanks to Daniel Vassallo’s second-half strike.
