BRIAN Hurley has been ruled out of the Munster senior football final against Kerry.

The experienced Cork sharpshooter suffered a groin injury in the provincial semi-final win against Tipperary last weekend.

Having been introduced at the break and making an impact with 0-3 from play, the Castlehaven man lasted only 20 minutes before limping off.

‘Brian has a groin injury,’ Cork boss John Cleary confirmed to The Southern Star.

‘Unfortunately, he won't make the Munster final.

‘It’s a blow to Brian and us – he has been playing well and making an impact.

‘He’s going to have another scan and we’ll go from there.’

Bantry Blues’ Dara Sheedy will also miss the Munster SFC final showdown with Kerry in Killarney on May 10th as he recovers from a hamstring injury suffered in action with the Cork U20s.

‘The Munster final will probably come too soon for Dara. He's back doing a bit of running, but the Munster final is probably a non-runner for him,’ Cleary said.
