FIVE Cork footballers have been named on the 2026 Lidl National Football Leagues Division 1 team of the year.
Fresh from winning the Division 1 title last weekend, it’s more good news for the league champions who, along with runners-up Galway, have five players included.
The Cork players selected are Dohenys’ Melissa Duggan, player of the match in the final victory over Galway last Saturday, Dara Kiniry, Aoife Healy, Katie Quirke and Allihies ace Áine Terry O’Sullivan.

The five Galway players acknowledged are goalkeeper Leah O’Halloran, Brónagh Quinn, Hannah Noone, Nicola Ward and Kate Slevin.
From Waterford, captain Emma Murray, Kellyann Hogan and Bríd McMaugh earned recognition, along with Armagh captain Lauren McConville and Kerry skipper Síofra O’Shea.
The winners will receive their awards at Croke Park on Friday, April 24th.
