WEST Cork's repuatation as a hot spot for rowing looks safe in the hands on the next generation.
Approximately 200 children descended on Rosscarbery Rowing Club's home at the Lagoon to take part in the ever-popular Southern Star South West Coast Yawl Rowing Schools Regatta 2026.
Over 30 national schools competed in the event with 61 crews taking to the water.

From Castletownbere to Newcestown, schools from across West Cork took part in an event full of fun, excitement and determination.
Hundreds of spectators watched the annual regatta which included ten childrens' races with an eleventh adult race featuring teachers, SNAs and a Southern Star crew.
