CARBERY took a lot of positives from their second game in the Premier 1 U15 Hurling League.
Up against a highly-rated Ballincollig team – the Mid Cork club won the county U14 title last year – Carbery trailed 3-6 to 0-9 at the break in Newcestown. Jack Allen and Oisín McCabe, who combined for 1-11, were Carbery’s main scoring threats.
While Ballincollig led 4-11 to 0-11 at the three-quarter stage, late goals by Jack Allen and sub Daniel Cronin were a just reward for Carbery’s efforts. Ballincollig won 4-13 to 2-11.
