SKIBBEREEN woman Wendy Murphy has set up a GoFundMe campaign to restore her damaged caravan, or replace it, writes Jackie Keogh.

With a target of €2,800, Wendy confirmed that 15 people have already made donations amounting to €540.

She said the money is needed to repair the leaking roof and the sides of the tiny caravan, repair the floor, and replace the three front windows that were smashed on the night of April 13th.

A toughened black fabric has been used to cover the three windows to keep the rain out, but Wendy said it has made the temperature and living conditions in the caravan for her and her 11-year-old daughter intolerable.

She said the fund, entitled ‘Help Wendy and her 11-year-old daughter get a safe home’ could help her eliminate the damp and mold in the caravan, or perhaps replace it with a new one.

The situation is, however, complicated by the fact that in early March Cork County Council served notice on her to remove the caravan from the site at Marsh Road or face court proceedings.
