THE Munster Angus Breeders held their second annual Pedigree Angus Corrin mart sale on Friday, April 10th.

Despite the poor weather this spring and the fuel protest impacting travel for both sellers and buyers, the event attracted an active bidding crowd with a new record average price for this sale.

All bulls presented were breeder-bred, genomic tested, inspected, and weighed upon entry to the mart, and all were fertility tested.

Overall the sale had a 60% clearance rate, with an average price of €4,010, up €340 from 2025.

There was particular strong trade with bulls with higher indexes. Four bulls achieved prices of €4,000 or more.

Derek Lovell from the famous Knockbrown Angus herd in Cork was show judge and Ardglass Mr Midnight from the herd of Aidan and Breda Crowley Charleville was show champion.

Mr Midnight is an October 2024 five-star son of Steil Victor.

Mr Midnight was also the sale price topper reaching an auction price of €4,500.

Reserve champion went to Kilsarlaught Mikey from the herd of Patrick Houlihan, Skibbereen.

Mikey is a September 2024 son of Lemonfield Uxas and he later went on to sell for €4,000.

The second highest price of the day, €4,350, went to the first bull into the ring Lakesidelodge Albert from the herd of Anthony Jennings, East Leap.

Albert is a June 2024 son of Hw Farghal

Next highest was €4,000 for Clyda Fionn from the herd of Ray Cronin, Mallow.

Fionn was a four-star October 2024 son of homebred sire Clyda Verygood

The next sale of the Munster Angus Breeders will be held at Kilmallock on Saturday April 18th where there are 45 bulls catalogued with all bulls’ fertility tested, genomic and exhibitor-bred

The committee would like to thank all the buyers, exhibitors, judge Derek Lovell, stewards Michael Sheehan, Daniel Fleming, Ray Cronin, Danny Fleming and all the team at Corrin Mart, Fergal O Gorman, photographer, and Michael John Fitzpatrick, auctioneer.
