The community spirit at Clonakilty Post Office is enhanced each Christmas by two local elves decorating the post boxes, bringing smiles to faces of all who visit there.

Junior infants and sixth class pupils at Scoil na mBuachaillí collaborated on planting projects in November which was part of the school’s Amber Flag initiative. As part of the Bridging the Years program, the classes link in regularly throughout the year, demonstrating kindness, leadership, and teamwork.

Mount Saint Michael’s senior art students enjoyed a trip to experience the magic of Newgrange last week.

Elke McCarthy with local politician Ken O’Flynn, who came to support Elke at the opening of her annual Blarney craft fair which was held last Sunday at SMGS.

Last Friday evening a large crowd gathered in the Joe Higgins Memorial Park, adjacent to the lake, to see the Christmas lights being turned on. This is the first time the trees and shrubs in the lakeside park have been lit up and the Dunmanway Community Council is grateful to Clonakilty and Dunmanway Credit Union Ltd for sponsoring the cost of the lights. Hot chocolate and lots of festive treats were sponsored by Healys SuperValu, Galvins Centra, Curtin’s Costcutters and West Cork Biscuits. The committee would like to thank all who helped with putting up the lights and getting the park ready for a lovely occasion.

A wonderful evening was had on Tuesday November 25th at Cox's Hall when Cork College of FET Dunmanway held their awards night and where learners were presented with their certificates for the courses they completed.
