GADDINAbtGarnish is a scenic swim around Garinish Island in Glengarriff, established in 2011, and organised by the Bantry Inshore Search and Rescue Association (BISRA).

Amelia Quish showed a remarkable display of determination and courage during the annual GaddinAbtGarnishevent held on August 23rd, 2025 in Glengarriff.

Aged 13, Amelia was the youngest swimmer at the event and successfully completed the challenging 3km swim amongst 300 entrants.

As its annual fundraiser, entry fees for the event go directly to Bantry Inshore Search and Rescue Association.

Amelia was so impressed by the organisation and the safety of the previous events that she decided to raise further awareness of the association and the event by creating an iDonate page dedicating her swim to Bantry Inshore Search and Rescue Association.

Amelia raised €2,520 to support BISRA’s vital efforts.
