A day-long community exhibition featuring unique pieces of art opens in Castletownbere on Thursday, April 30th to raise funds for Féile O'Sullivan from Allihies.

All of the money raised through sales at the exhibition, which will run from 1pm until 7pm, will go directly to Féile who is currently in rehabilitation following a farming accident last July.

The Art 4 Feile  exhibition has been organised by artist and tutor Ida Mitrani and the Beara CETB Community Participation Through Art and Design students.

This one-day exhibition celebrates the incredible creative community of Beara, bringing together works by well-known local artists and emerging creatives, alongside contributions from ETB students past and present, schools, and support organisations.

It will also showcase an impressive range of artistic practice from painting and photography to mixed media, textile art, ceramics, and collage.

Beara artists have generously donated over 100 artworks to raise funds for Féile.

Pieces will be sold ‘incognito’, where artist identities are concealed until after purchase.

This will allow visitors to experience the work without preconceptions and to support Féile while buying pieces they enjoy.

'This event is a powerful example of how creativity can unite a whole community through art and generosity,' Ida told The Southern Star. And Noreen Murnane of the Beara CETB said: 'It’s about coming together to support Féile while showcasing the incredible talent within Beara.'
