The West Cork Jesters team who were guests of Elche Rugby Club in Alicante, Spain last weekend took part in a non-competitive day of all-inclusive rugby at the host’s grounds on Saturday. The Bantry Blues U7 footballers got their season off to a good start last Saturday morning when they travelled to a monster blitz in Ahiohill where they played three games and had great fun developing their skills.

Kilcoe National School has been chosen as the primary school regional winner for the southern region in An Taisce marine school of the year awards. They will travel to Dublin on May 15th to the awards ceremony where they will receive their trophy. An overall national winner will be chosen on the day. At a ceremony in Limerick recently, De la Salle Macroom past pupil Fabian Palka received his All-Ireland Scholarship, a fantastic achievement that reflects his hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence. Fabian was presented with his award by JP McManus and Willie O'Dea TD.

Cara Toal, Charlotte Galvin, Matthew Mulligan, Sadhbh Coakley and Emily Carroll, Kinsale Community School, took part in the Young Journalist Ireland Awards, run by Newsbrand, where they got a third place award in the School Newspaper category for their Voice of KCS project.

In total, 14 students, four robots/ teams and three teachers represented the school at the event.
